On this February 16, we reflect on the history of the American presidency and the leaders who have guided our country through its most defining moments. It’s a day to honor the office and the enduring principles of leadership and service.

Today is National School Resource Officer Appreciation Day, and we want to share a huge thank you with the dedicated officers of St. Landry Parish! 💙

Yesterday was a great morning of learning in the ESS department!

Thanks to Mrs. Tiffany Perry and Mrs. Tricia Fontenot for presenting to our pupil appraisal staff. We covered everything from updated student policies and procedures to the rapidly changing world of AI and productivity.

We are grateful for our district leaders who take the time to keep our team sharp and ready for the future!

We want to ensure all of our families have the upcoming holiday dates on their calendars!

This February, we are proud to celebrate Black History Month. We join our community in honoring the incredible contributions, achievements, and legacies of Black Americans throughout history. Together, we celebrate the voices that have shaped our past and continue to inspire our future. 🌟

Closing out our School Board Recognition Month highlights, we recognize Mary Ellen Donatto for her representation of District #13.
Professional oversight and consistent policy implementation are the hallmarks of a successful board. Thank you, Ms. Donatto, for your commitment to the operations of our district.

In recognition of School Board Recognition Month, we are featuring Timmakah Hardy for her representation of District #12.
Strong board leadership provides the structure necessary for our educators and students to succeed. We thank Ms. Hardy for her professional service and her focus on district wide improvement.

As part of School Board Recognition Month, we recognize Tiffany Nolan for her representation of District #11.
The board’s role in managing district policy is a critical component of student achievement. Thank you, Ms. Nolan, for your diligent work and your commitment to the governance of our educational system.

Important St. Landry Parish School Board District-Wide Closure Notice
Please be advised that all St. Landry Parish School Board schools and offices will be closed on Monday, January 26th, and Tuesday, January 27th, due to forecasted winter weather conditions. This decision was reached after consulting with the National Weather Service and the Office of Emergency Preparedness.
The safety of our students, staff, and families is our top priority. All after-school activities, practices, and school or district-related events scheduled for these days are also canceled.
We encourage everyone to stay indoors, keep warm, and stay safe for the duration of this winter weather event. We will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates regarding Wednesday’s schedule through our standard communication channels.

Today we highlight Hazel Sias for her representation of District #10 during School Board Recognition Month.
The oversight provided by our board members ensures that our schools operate efficiently and remain accountable to the public. We appreciate Ms. Sias for her dedication to these responsibilities.

Continuing our School Board Recognition Month, we recognize Randy Wagley for his work representing District #9.
Strategic leadership and sound policy making are key to a well functioning school system. Thank you, Mr. Wagley, for your service on the board and your focus on the district's long-term goals.
